A true eye-catcher: the Blue Spruce

The Blue Spruce, scientifically known as Picea pungens, has earned its place as a beloved Christmas tree choice for many. Its distinctive bluish or silvery-blue needles lend a unique and captivating charm to festive decorations.

When adorned with twinkling lights and baubles, the Blue Spruce's bluish hue provides a beautiful contrast and a touch of elegance to the holiday season. Its sturdy branches are well-suited for supporting ornaments of all shapes and sizes, making it an ideal canvas for creative decorating.

Why Choose a Blue Spruce as Christmas Tree?

  1. Bluish Needles: The most distinctive feature of the Blue Spruce is its bluish or silvery-blue needles. This unique colouration sets it apart from many other evergreen trees, which typically have green needles.
  2. Pyramidal Shape: Blue Spruce trees are known for their classic pyramidal shape, with branches that grow in a tiered fashion. This shape makes them popular choices as Christmas trees and for landscaping purposes.
  3. Excellent Needle Retention: Blue Spruce trees are renowned for their excellent needle retention. Even after being cut and decorated as a Christmas tree they tend to retain their needles well.
