Colour Your Garden - City Garden

The awe-inspiring metropolitan backdrop of this rooftop garden gives a fresh, contemporary look to this small space. Luminous yellows and vivid lime shades contrast with super stylish touches of black, white and silver makes this space an entertaining hot-spot for all things alfresco.

How to Achieve the Look

If you have a small patio space or balcony then this is the garden for you. Making use of containers that you could move around to suit your needs, this garden is low maintenance and easy to achieve.

Choosing a centrepiece for your pots or containers will provide you with a focal point to plant around. Use a Phormium such as Golden Ray, with its distinctive golden yellow striped leaves that are thin and leathery. Underplant this with layers of colour in yellow, black and silver.

Bright yellow plants such as Osteospernum Yellow or Rudbeckia Goldsturm are slightly taller than the mass flowering Petunia, or for year round foliage colour try Heuchera Obsidian, know for it's darker shade.

Petunia also come in a darker shade and look great contrasting with the bright yellow colours of the Rudbeckia. For a touch of silver then Cineraria Silverleaf will cascade over the edges of the pot as will Bacopa with its low growing habit.
